What Can Flocking Teach Us About Ourselves?

flocker_01I’m frequently asked the question; “Joe, what can flocking teach us about ourselves?”

It’s not always in so many words, or in those exact words, but I generally tell them the same thing…Flocking teaches us that everything substantial in life is hidden under a thin veneer. If you were to scratch below the gritty, green surface that coats our world, you’d find particle board. Plastic. Ikea MDF. You’d find that everything under the attractive guise of nature is a construct designed to give our world form, but without function.

It may sound bleak, but if this is true it means we Flockers have a very important part to play in the world. We have the burden, and the responsibility, to bring aesthetic beauty into a world of particle board.
